The Swift Parrot is a slim, medium-sized migratory parrot renowned for its vivid green body, red and yellow face pattern, and swift, direct flight. This species breeds only in Tasmania and migrates each winter to mainland southeastern Australia, making it one of the few truly migratory parrots in the world. With a critically endangered status and fewer than 2, mature individuals remaining, the Swift Parrot is facing a high risk of extinction in the near future.
